2015 Tudor Pelagos vs. Rolex submariner used

I am in the process of saving up to buy a used 90's Submariner, I thought.
But the more I read about the new Pelagos, the more I like it.
At about $4500 they are both in range.
    Hmmm....

edit: If the Pelagos was 40mm, I would buy the Pelagos. But I just can't get over the image of hockey puck floating on my skinny wrist. I am getting a rolex submariner.
    Thanks for all the inputs.

Here - Sub easily wins - particularly the no-date Sea-dweller. More iconic, drilled lugs, prettier hands (and I'm not even a fan of mercedes hands, but the snowflake is not my cup of tea), no date (not a fan of Tudor date cutout). If you can squeeze a Sub in good shape at same price as Tudor - it's a nobrainer.

And after few mos the watch will be "used" regardless - you can have used Sub instead of used Pelagos

I'm voting used Sub but with a caveat--I'd look for a 5513 or some other type of vintage 60s-80s era Sub ahead of one of the modern era (by which I mean the luminova, non-tritium dialed watches): Name: 5513MarkD.jpg

So long as sub was in good condition the Tudor wouldn't stand a chance.

you think they're apples to apples but it's not...

the tudor movement comes with a silicone spring and -2/+4 accuracy, the 3135 in that model could be regulated but -4/+6 is it's aim.... it's 42mm vs 40mm and maybe 15mm vs 12mm, steel (shiny) vs titanium(dark and dull)... maybe 8 gram difference, one of the best clasps ever vs a bullet proof simple and ugly clasp, super lume vs dying lume, no service needed vs you might have to drop an additional $700 to bring it up to specs....

if it was me, i'd go for the pelagos 2.0, prestige be damned... you might impress some poor folks, but that's it.

I actually went through a very similar decision over the past year. 2014 Pelagos vs used Sub-ceramic. I was only interested in the sub-c. To find a used sub-c for a price I was willing to pay took quite some time. So long in fact that I saved up and bought a brand new Sub-c for a price I was happy with. :)

With your choices, I'd go used sub.

If we're talking SubC, go with the Sub. If we're talking older model Sub, I'd go with the Pelagos. I just can't get used to the old Sub's clasp/bracelet at that price point.

All about the look for me, Sub for sure in this case . . .

Not a fan of the hands on the Tudor. For me a deal breaker, but I'm sure some likes them.

Another vote for the pre-owned Sub, but I'd be interested in seeing theTudor in-house movement in the new Pelagos. Not crazy about the Pelagos dial and hands though.
