    AD Follow up

    This is mostly for those of of us who purchased watches from an AD. Im curious have any of you gotten follow calls emails etc. about your watch purchase satisfaction I have with car purchases but not with watches just curious, not complaining or any of that nonsense.

    Emails, invites to sales/events, Christmas cards, letting me know when a new watch was coming so I could see it in advance (like the new IWC Portuguese Auto way back in May when it was well ahead of most places). Not calls. Actually heard less from my AMG dealer than when I bought a (relatively) inexpensive Longines. Though Mercedes-AMG themselves contact and give more than the individual watch companies. So I think for cars the manufacturers keep in touch. For watches, the ADs. At least in my experience. That said, I suspect it is more AD/dealer dependent than a broad stroke.

    Question is are you guys getting personalized message from a live person or just mkting gumpf because you are on a mailing list?

    I get both. I get personal emails letting me know when something is in early or on my birthday or stuff like that (like a month or two before it is supposed to go on sale kind of stuff). I also get the usual mailing list stuff. I did get new free straps for my Longines and Vacheron for my watches. I also got the Omega magazine subscription and a whole bunch of catalogs.

    Probably the latter more than likely. I ok with that just getting a feel for how things actually work now AD is great if you have issues and I did on one purchase everything worked out ok not going to rehash that nightmare

    I've only gotten personalized thank you cards from the sales people, but then I don't often buy from an AD.

    The AD I use has called a couple of times to say that they have a little "something" for me but they've never requested any feedback on a purchase I made there.
