    Advice on Edox

I'm eyeing this watch... never had an Edox and don't know anyone that does either actually... Is their quality good?

Any opinion on blue vs. black?

Solid, entry-level Swiss brand that's rarely seen in North America outside of grey market websites. I'd stack it up against Hamilton in terms of its 'snack-bracket'.

Do you think they're using ETA movement for their watches?

I haven't kept up with the brand, but in recent years they were using ETA movements. They might have switched over to Sellita, but I can't say for sure.

    Re: Advice on Edox

Frankly, I think Edox ranks a bit above "entry level" with some of their pieces; their upper-end stuff is really pristine quality. I'm a four Edox owner, and I probably will take the dive again. I have a Grand Ocean that I honestly think is one of my better watches.

I'd go with the blue; it really pops. And I don't think you'll be disappointed with the quality.

I ordered the blue earlier today. Jomashop says it will ship in 1-2 days. Let's see if they're truthful.

I'm looking forward to it. I think it looks beautiful. I'll post some pics

I've seen their watches in the flesh and they are really well made, lot's of attention to detail and unique designs.

    Re: Advice on Edox

I owned one, the brand gives you what you pay for and then some.

    Edit***

It's getting to the point where there aren't too many brands I haven't owned. I'm not saying that to brag, it's actually terrible. I've even been an Invicta fan, there, I said it.

    Edit again***

I was just thinking about how much money I've spent over the years between watch servicing, purchases, losses when I sold and the postage, it almost caused me to eject my BBQed pizza.

Then there are the fuel costs. I can't wait until noon for FedEx to show up, I call CS and ask to have the watch held at the main depot. Then I drive into another city to pick it up. Then there is the driving back and forth to the PO to mail off whatever I've sold or to pick up a parcel after getting a notice.

I realized after all of these expenses, had I kept all of that cash, I could have retired at 55. That thought did make my pizza come up.

    Re: Advice on Edox

Congrats on your order, Edox make some quality watches especially their cases & bracelets. They mostly use Sellita movements now buy may still have some ETA stock.

I would put them at least the equal of or slightly above entry level Swiss luxury brands like Tag & Longines.

I look forward to seeing the pics of your new timepiece.
