    Affordable Pilot Chronographs?

Hey all, I'm looking for an affordable pilot chronograph similar to the style of IWC's. I'm really into the Alpina Startimer Big Date Chrono but would like some other suggestions. I've checked out some Lacos and like those too but would prefer something with a PVD case. Id like to keep my price less than $500 if possible and the Alpina is just slightly above that. Any suggestions?

PVD isn't particularly durable, and unless I'm dealing with a collectable vintage piece, I wouldn't recommend anything gilt, chrome plated or PVD-coated.

    Maybe the Stowa Flieger chrono?

Interesting opinion on the PVD coating. I think the Stowa Chrono is too far out of my price range but i do like the look of that along with many of the Fortis and Sinn chrono pilots.

Used steinhart nav b uhr line. It might be a little over your budget of $500 but you get automatic movement instead of the Quartz from alpina.

Check out Gerlach, it's a Polish company.
When buying a watch - under $500 anything goes, over $1000 you should know!
