After almost two years with my Orange Monster...a review.

I may get some hate mail but so be it. Just my honest personal opinions:

As it states in the review, I'll probably get another one someday :)

Nice review and pics, good perspective from the "watch wearer's" point of view. I don't own one but have toyed with the idea; I'd probably be ripping the thing apart right away to try and make it more accurate!

Good review of an affordable icon. Might get another one myself one day, but one thing that did annoy me a little was that the case guard made access and use of the bezel a bit difficult. I'd recommend you get your next one on a bracelet. Has to be the best bracelet available on a watch at that price point.

A very nice review of a somewhat modern watch "icon".
    Thanks for sharing.

No hate here... we need more real-world user reviews like this. Can't say you didn't put it through its paces and give it some real wrist time. Good job.

PS got a good chuckle out of this "The Orange Monster is first and foremost a divers watch and is reportedly waterproof down to 660 feet. While I've attempted a 660 foot dive to test this, for some reason, I've never gotten past 9 feet deep. I usually run out of breath and my ears start popping, so I'll have to accept what others say is true."

Thanks for post, and be safe,

Good point. Most reviewers only cover what they like about the watch and gloss over the dislikes. And usually these points are about the looks, not about the function.

HA!, I plan on a record breaking dive to about about 10 feet this year! It'll probably make the papers :)

Great looking watch from afar, but I don't see myself warming to the rawness of the layered plastic dial. Still, I like photos that attempt to hide the plasticky nature of the dial.
I'm content with my watch collection

I don't get why you would think that hate mail was coming. It's a totally positive review stating the obvious about the Orange Monster. In other words..... You love the Orange Monster and the inaccuracy does not bother you. Same here. I guess if someone hates Orange Monsters you would end up with "hate mail".

Really it's the opposite; that the OM isn't perfect and stating the things I didn't like about it and thus ended up selling it. Any OM detraction around some parts will get you hate mail. :)
