All autos will vary noticeably but the big thing is how much your watch gains in any 24 hour period.

Best way to check it is....Set time to an Atomic clock, wear watch 5 days, check watch at end of 5th day.
Note increase or decrease, divide by 5 gives you daily average.

And to further check if it's normal, find out the movement that you have in your watch, (ETA 2824 or variant?) and Google for what the specs are for the base movement.

If you are new to automatic watches, you'll probably be surprised as to what is the normal gain or loss and what is considered "in spec" for your movement.

At that point, you may want to search and/or experiment how to control it a bit by what position that you leave it in when it's off of your wrist.

I like to use Time.gov or one of my atomic G-Shocks to check and I do so every 24hrs with the watch in a full state of wind and with a normal wear/off the wrist pattern. As noted above, others do it a bit differently.

And BTW, if an auto movement is not spot on, (and it almost never is) I prefer for it to gain as opposed to lose time, which is normal as well.

It's accuracy could vary by 15 seconds +- per day. To test accuracy set it to the second using time.gov and then just wear the watch for at least 5 whole days without hand winding. Divide the cumulative error by number of days and the average daily error should be within the range I mentioned.
