Alternatives to Christopher Ward Trident C65 Vintage?

I'm looking for a very versatile watch similar in style to the Christopher Ward Trident C65. I very much like the Chris Ward, but would like to consider all options before making a purchase. It would have to be around $700 or under, automatic, and under 41 mm in diameter.

Also, what do you typically consider more valuable, off the shelf swiss movement like in the Christopher Ward, or in-house movements such as the 6R15 in the Seikos?

    Hamilton Field Khaki Auto
Comes in 2 sizes and is about half the price.
Probably has the same or similar movement.

If I was in the market for a C65 vintage I suppose I would look to see what Hamilton had to offer but I know in my bones that I’d end up with the CW.

When I was looking for a versatile watch, I considered the C65, but as at the time I had several other C.Wards I went with the Damasko DA38

I also considered the Longines Conquest

Tissot build their T-classic which is 39mm and around $600 (see pic) but Certina Raymond Weil, and Oris also build attractive auto’s under $700.

If you follow Halios' Instagram, you may be able to catch when the next batch of Seaforth watches go on sale before they sell out in 45 seconds. Should be near the end of this year. IMO they are one of the cleanest vintage-inspired dive watch designs to come out in years. They come in dark blue, yellow, gray or pastel blue dials; fixed bezel, rotating steel or sapphire bezel with minute or 24-hour markers; and will be offered with date or GMT complications. The last version sold at $650 for a Miyota movement, so likely to be right around $700-$800 for the Swiss 2824 version this time around.

    Quick, terrible picture of mine:

How about Davosa? They make a number of cool models in a somewhat similar style.
