Am I missing something here ...Size is getting stupid

It seems to me that on TZ every other post is a wrist shot of a huge watch that over laps the guys wrist ...Whats with this trend and why are so many people buying in to it ?

I know watches have got bigger but my size is about 40 to 44mm for my wrist, after that no matter what the watch it just looks pathetic , how come so many people seem to overlook the fact that each wrist is different and are just buying bigger . I know its all about choice but just go to the TZ forum and have a look at some of the wrist shots ..I for one laugh ...

I know what I like , but I cant help thinking this is sheeple going along with a trend and they are not actually liking the look , but buying in to a trend ...I saw a 6.5in wrist with a 48mm the other day ...Ridiculous is not the word alarm clock on the wrist is a better description... Whats going on ? are watch buyers now just pathetic sheeple ?

Well, there are countless watches in the 40 - 44mm range, so I guess anyone that wears one is sheeple. Baahh.

When watches are marketed like this

you know that they aren't just supposed to look large, it's now the style for watches to look ridiculously oversized

It would be a very boring world if we all liked the same things wouldn't it?
Having said that there was an advert for a well known UK watch website after xmas that featured a man coming out of a shop with what could only be described as a clock on his hand and a gormless grin on his face holding it up to the camera. I have to admit I lmao.
Lot's of people seem to genuinely like them though and some wear a bigger watch better than others. 44mm would be too big for me.

Style trends come and go. Usually what makes them go is when people wake up one day and say, "well, that looks rather silly," and reverse course to make a statement of individuality.

I suspect that turn has already happened for male watches, but I think the ladies are lagging behind a bit and have another few years of wearing man watches before they are done.

But think of it this way: your 40-44mm watch would have looked grossly oversized to the WIS of the 60's.

True. I reckon34-35mm would have been average then. They'd have looked at you with the same look you have for these people.
