    Another new concept in anti-counterfeiting protection for watches

    Came upon this article regarding new anti-counterfeiting technology.
    Nanometric Watermarks are Invisible to the Naked Eye | Digital Trends
    Am I the only one that notices the inherent flaw in the concept. All an unscrupulous criminal needs to do is get ahold of authentic watch crystals, which is not hard to do even for brands with good inventory control and a trusted dealer/repair network. Now, if they can imprint the "watermark" on the dial, hands, escapement bridge or some other gut parts of the movement, then I would have a bit more confidence.

    It's just about making life difficult I don't think you can ever fully protect the product being copied
