Anyone Familiar With 'Outcast' Watches? Professional Opinions Welcome

This is a new brand to me and I can't find any independent info on them on the internet.

If you have any useful experiences/thoughts to do with this brand please let me know!

    Thank you!

Looks like a recent Indiegogo brand-- like Kickstarter but with less personal responsibility

    My take is this:

    - The fake diver bezel style bulks up the watch unnecessarily. I'd rather just have a larger dial, maybe in a 42mm case or so instead of 44mm. Not a fan of that at all.

    - The price is high to my mind. The Miyota triple calendar movement is sought after, but $800 seems a little fanciful. I'd be happier with the price in the $500 ball park or under (and that ONLY because the price of the movement has gone up so much in recent years.) I suspect that it was for early bird pre-orders. The only comp I can think of is the Melbourne Portsea which is currently a little over $650 at current exchange rates, but is a fairly luxurious model and a more established brand that doesn't do inexpensive stuff-- and is more likely to be around in a few years.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing. The Portsea also looks better finished and comes in a more reasonable 40mm case as opposed to Outcast's 44mm case.

    This.

Being around in a few years is very important to me.

A few years is a short time in watch ownership and having the parts available that make the watch unique is really important.

I'm most curious about... what is a "professional opinion"??

    Oh man. BAD start.

Google search...the title shown for their site is "Outcast Watches -- Badass, Stylish Watches for Men."

Uhhhhh huh. So what else is the Well Dressed Gangbanger Wannabe wearing? Odd to do this with a triple calendar, too, the way they're presenting the brand. Doesn't seem like a natural fit.

And I'd be worried about the cost of service down the line. The white and black dials are decent...and probably the blue would work on a less in-your-face strap. The yellow is certainly bold.

Me...I'd never consider this for several reasons, but a big one? I loathe triple calendars. Too fiddly. I switch watches every day or two as a rule; triple calendars have all the reset hassles of any calendar watch, with the need to tweak the day several times a year for the short months.
