A couple of you have also recommended the Citizen Promaster Tough. Just saw one minutes ago and it looks pretty good. Size works for me whereas the INOX may be a bit big. I’m leaning this way.

Not likely to be interested in a diver, but GMTs do appeal to me. When I get home I’ll take a look at your suggestions. More ideas always welcome. Thanks.

The G-shock is the ultimate beater or if you want something nicer maybe one of these:

I don't think you can go wrong with a Lum Tec Field Watch pictured below.
That's what I have used in the past.

+1 for the Scurfa suggestion. It's a terrific watch made by an experienced diver at a great price.

Also worth taking a look at Bertucci ... they're like little Sherman tanks, with screw down crowns, 100M water resistance, and blazing lume, in your choice of resin, stainless steel, or titanium.

As for a mechanical, I think the Jomashop price of $338 for a Hamilton Khaki King is maybe one of the best deals out there for any watch. It's only 50M water resistance, but has sapphire crystal, and the newer models have the 80-hour power reserve, which almost qualifies it as a grab & go.

Seiko skx line or field watch. Also, hamilton field watch. These two get my nod.

Butter smooth and has been surprisingly durable. It must be at least a year old and still looks like the day I bought it. Just like any handwind, I do take some joy in viewing the back while I give it a few cranks every morning. 7 1/4 inch wrist.
