    AR coating service...where?

Does anyone know where I can get some of my watch crystals to get double AR? My 2 Hamiltons have no AR and they need it badly!

I did some preliminary research on this, and it seems that you can get them coated at an eyewear repair store. Some glasses have AR treatment. I don't know personally if the particular eyewear technician will do the AR job for your watch, but I have heard it is possible (from this forum).

But please keep in mind, AR coating will succumb to scratches more easily. If it were me and I wanted the coating badly, I'd go for just the underside single coating (not the top of the sapphire). Just a thought!

    Best of luck,

I believe the eyeware repair shop CAN apply the AR coating.

However, from what my friend (who is the eye glass tech) tells me is that the coating, after applying must be baked in.

Which means, that you must remove the crystal from the watch, apply the coating, bake it in, then put the crystal back in.

Also, some companies put multiple layers of coating and that may cost quite a bit more.
