    Armani Meccanico AR4603

    Gang,

Anyone know anything about this guy? Spotted it at Nordstroms and really, really liked the look of it on my wrist. My one huge watch deficiency is dress pieces - I have none! This particular model may fill the void.

All I know is it's got a mineral crystal, SS case/strap, but am wondering more-so about the movement. I do believe one of the older models in the "Meccanico" series had a true swiss 2824 but am not sure about this one considering its retrograde-ness?? Not a deal breaker by any stretch, just kinda interested.

    Any info is appreciated!

Pic courtesy of wristwatch.com and I must say, it looks 10x better in person!

I checked some italian watch fora and blogs but with no success, they don´t mention a swiss movement at all ("movimento svizzera").

The movement is probably of Asian origin.

I suspect the movements are the same in both watches.

Here is a Kienzle that has the same layout. It is also of Asian Origin

Having an Asian movement isn't a bad thing. I think if Armani stands behind its products then I would not worry.

Mike, thodgins - thanks for your efforts and input. Good call on the Alpha! Kind of a bummer, (not trying to be a movement snob in the least bit) but for the price ($325 retail) probably not worth it if that is indeed the case is my inclination based solely on no fact whatsoever. As you said, however, nothing against the Asian movements at all but just doesn't "feel" right at that price although I do see that Kienzle goes for considerable more online...

    Thanks!!
