Art Deco style -give me a good alternative...

I really like Art Deco styled watches and particularly the JLC Reverso but there are a couple of things that I'm not so sure about. The case tends to be rather slab like with no curvature and some of the dial designs are a bit disappointing. There are plenty of vintage, but most are rather small. What other Art Deco watches, particularly rectangular shape are out there. Price wise - anything up to a used JLC 3 hand.

Only one that immediately comes to mind in a rectangular tank style case is the Vratislavia Avant Garde, which runs $350

I've got more Converse sneakers than watches, but it is a close race.

Cartier Tank watches come to mind. The Tank cases are more subdued compared to the Reverso's rotating one.

Oris. Curved case. Intricate dial. Two sizes to choose from.

Longines Dolcevita, Cartier Tank, Cartier Santos, Glashutte Senator 70’s, Patek Twenty-4, A Lange Cabaret (used only). These all have Art Deco elements including rectangular cases.

Dependant on where the ceiling is set looking for a used Reverso, it might be worth trying on a few of the more current models if not already as they have a slightly curved case back in order to contour with the wrist better.

Dubey & Schaldenbrand did some art deco inspired tonneau/curvex ones as I recall. Best of luck in your search.

Good sized vintage are out there to be found. Not sure how old it is. Guessing around 90 years old. Pictured on my 8” wrist. It’s not small for a tank. Just about 26mm across, and about 40mm lug to lug. I grabbed it because it was surprisingly sized for a watch it’s age.

Yes, the hands were re-lumed, and badly. Another story!

I guess my advice is, get the real deal. Genuine Art Deco era. Just keep an eye out for a good size piece that fits your wrist.

P.S. I’d also love a Reverso one day. But there’s a few grails ahead of it.
