    automatic watch maintenance

I recently purchased my first automatic watch from a private party which didn't include a manual. I was wondering if there is any thing out there that guides you in taking care of an automatic watch. When to send it in for maintenance ect. I'm not a total novice but would like to get more educated on how to properly take care of my watch.

I personally never send it in for any servicing till the accuracy suffers.
    Cheers!

Service - four to five years at any good watchmaker. Wind fully by hand and don't shake it like a rattle like some people do.

If we knew what brand and such, better information could be provided.

Expensive > US$ 4000 service every 4 years or when accurancy changes.

Mont Blanc does have a service center, you can find it on the web. But, any good watch repair place should be able to service it.

Six to ten years is a good service interval (my opinion, others may differ.)

Don't use the quick-set day or date change when the hands are between 8 pm and 2 am. No need to hand wind any more than required. Looks like an ETA 7750 or 7751, good reliable movement.
