Bank wire only...? No F'ing way !! Paypal only.

I don't care. I'm seeing too many get nailed.

If you want to sell me a watch, you must accept Paypal.

If you don't, to me that means you have financial problems and I don't want to deal with you at all.

Flame me as much as you want. Flame Paypal as much as you want.

I would never send anything over $40 bank wired to someone I don't know.

If they ask for wire transfer only, most probably they don't even have the item they're advertising, let alone having any intention of shipping it to you; I don't know of any mean to loose money as quickly as sending a wire transfer for a promised item, might as well throw money in the gutter and expect your grail watch to spring out.

But most people know this, and they just move on when they see it.

I've seen some members with high post count and feedback but I still will pass. You're literally handing over a large sum of money in hopes someone keeps their word and you actually get the item as described.

    This thread again.

I have wired money before. I have received wires before.
I have also received paypal before and paid using paypal before.
When I have never dealt with the person before, my preference would be to pay using paypal receive using wire.
However, do remember, just buy your seller. Also, as a seller why should I trust you not to do paypal dispute?

I have PLENTY of references from people who paid me via wire transfer. If buyer can show me references equally as good for buying pricy items using paypal as well, I suppose I can take paypal. IF I have dealt with you before, most likely I would take paypal from you.

@bullshark, I know PLENTY of sellers taking only bank wires who are very reputable sellers that I would not hesitate to buy using wire transfer.

No, read all the other threads that come up about scammers.

    Those threads again.

The most expensive watch is the one you pay for an never get.

My most expensive watches were bought from trusted sellers paid by wire. They don't take Paypal.

Re: Bank wire only...? No F'ing way !! Paypal only.

I just spotted one in the sales forum 15 minutes ago, believe it was for a Rolex Submariner.

Another thing that bothers me is the Pay Pal but you need to include 4% if you pay that way.

I didn't come in the morning mail and I've sold plenty via pay pal, the fee to me when receiving funds is 2.9% so I don't get the 4% over the asking price thing at all. I look at buying a watch and then deciding you don't like it and want to sell as something you just may lose a few quid on. Period. It isn't a buyers fault I am selling a watch no matter what the reason behind the sale so if I have to take it on the chin for a hundred bucks or so, whatever it's my fault for having a watch I don't want.

As far as sending money I can't track to someone I don't know, that ain't happening. This watch I'm wearing right now............. I bought it from a member here. He sent me his phone number and we had a couple conversations before we did a deal. I felt pretty secure in that. I also just sold five watches through the forum and those who bought them didn't have to worry about me at all because I made very clear and timely communications at every turn. Those went to America - UK - and 2 to France.

A classifieds forum is a great thing until someone begins to look at it as their sales room or worse yet a place to sell even though you don't participate in the forums here.

I wouldn't even wire transfer money to a reputable AD who has been in business many years. If you have a dispute you have no chance of getting your money back. From a individual seller even if they were totally above board with tons of references they could still get hit by a car on their way to the post office. No reason to do wire transfer when alternatives exist that can protect you.
