    battle of the longines watches

its time to make a purchase. I've come to a milestone in my life and have been given permission by the wife to buy a watch. I've narrowed it down to two, but just cannot make up my mind.

They're both Longines (I love the style of watch they make and I like the movements as well) I really enjoy both, but i wanted to see what others thought. first up is the longines column wheel chronograph. Beautiful watch, simple and clean, and a perfect size at 40mm

the second it Longines' 180th anniversary monopusher chrono. Elegant, very simple and classic. I love the red "12" marker.

so help me out. Id love to hear from other enthusiasts what you think, but please, dont suggest other watches or say "hey for another $8000 why dont you get a Patek?" no one appreciates those comments. these are the two i've decided on and I just need a push to one side or the other. Thanks!

Both are fantastic, but the Monopusher wins it for me. There is something about the red 12 and the blue hands that just makes me feel joyous.

I would take the monopusher. It's a feature you don't see often and also the first Longines is a little too generic for my taste.

Monopusher. A unique complication you don't often see.

Also, I like how the dial looks like enamel.

Forget these and get a speedmaster

Just kidding! I would probably get the monopusher chrono, its an interesting watch and I seem to have a penchant for those. I also have a weakness for white enamel dials as well as blue hands.

Of course the benefit of the other one is that since its a more typical design, it may be less likely to wear out its welcome as a daily wear.

If you genuinely prefer the stronger flavour of the monopusher, you should definitely go for it :)

Get the Monopusher. You can always find another elegant and dressy chronograph, but that Monopusher is unique.

Like both watches, but I would choose the monopusher because this model is really close (aesthetically) to the original, has a cool complication and a great presence on the wrist.

Edit: WatchTime has a pic of a 1913 model similar to the 180th anniversary edition here:
