    Bead bracelets

Could anyone please explain the wooden or leather bracelets I see many of you wearing with your watch? I like the look usually but is there a particular meaning or reason for wearing them?
I've been meaning to ask since I have yet to see someone wearing them outside of this forum. Thanks in advance.

    Re: Bead bracelets

Personally I wear a bracelet with my watch out of habit to have something on my wrist. Sometimes I'll wear one on my right wrist sometimes with my watch. If anything it's a balance look or simply matches the watch. Sometimes it could be sentimental as well. I have a bracelet sitting in my drawer my aunt got me for high school graduation nearly 10 years ago and wear it on occasion. Otherwise being a health geek I wear a fitbit flex on my right wrist and my watch on my left.

I, too, liked the look when I saw people in photos here. Then I made a beaded bracelet and wore it with one of my watches and immediately got scratches on it so I've never worn a bracelet with my watch again!

I never thought about them then one day searching Google for "Zenith Bracelet" I saw this. Its like $500 bucks so I am going to try and make it my self. Not sure how to make the steel spacers and can't find them anywhere.

You either do or you don’t like bracelets (plenty of people think I’m strange as heck for having so many watches) so it must be pure torture for folks who like their bracelets and watches as well.

they do certainly make for much more interesting watch photos--adding color, shapes, etc. They're not for me, but I see the appeal. Unless I have a long sleeve shirt on, it's very hard to take a remotely interesting wrist shot. Im not a very hairy guy, so the pic always end up looking ill-composed. My summer shots tend to be wristless because of this.

That's a William Henry bracelet. They tend to be expensive because they are hand made. At least they used to be; seems like someone is going to automate their production line soon. They also use some more rare materials (fossils like dinosaur, coral, walrus, mammoth), expensive materials (rubies, diamonds, jade, etc), and intricate work (damascus, kofgari, mokune gane, etc). Pretty solid work. I have four of their bracelets and two knives. A bit pricey, but come on. We buy watches here so . . .

its just an accent piece, some people hate them with a burning passion while some people enjoy wearing them, i don't think theres really a specific meaning
