    Beaters

In the next month or so I will be buying an Omega Aqua Terra 8500, which will be my daily watch.

I am now looking for a beater to be worn during semi physical activities.

    Requirements:

    Anti-magnetic
    Anti-shock
    Mechanical
    WR

Show me whats out there :)

Look at Sinn and Damasko. Lots of styles and choices, so easier just to check out Watchbuys and Watchmann, respectively.

Watches I know that are Anti-Magnetic would be selections from IWC's Pilot and Ingenieur lines. This is because of the Soft Iron Inner Case they use. They seem to fit your criteria.

    Beaters

The Germans do high quality tool watches better than anyone IMHO.

I own two Damaskos. The DA36 is a 40mm $1100 piece of highly antimagnetic extremely scratch resistant beater awesomeness. The DK11 is a little larger much more expensive high end tool watch. Both would serve your needs, but if I had to name the best mechanical multipurpose beater watch out there, the DA36 would be my first choice.

The specs on the DA36 are:
    80,000 A/M antimagnetic.
    700 Vickers through hardened case
higher corrosion resistance than 316L steel.
    Double AR coated sapphire glass.
    100M WR
    Permanently lubricated crown seal
    Viton gaskets

I was going to suggest that as well but I believe the cheapest anti-magnetic mechanical Seiko would be an Emperor Tuna. And at that price, I would not consider it a beater.

Can you elaborate on why it needs to be anti-magnetic and mechanical? (And your budget would be useful too)

I'm just looking for something that is tough as nails but still in the mechanical category. I know a Casio or GShock would be the best but they don't excite me. I would be open to a TC Quartz but I don't think they exist in my price range.

Budget would be $1500 and under (otherwise I would get a Bremont but a beater being more expensive than my soon-to-be pride and joy seems wrong)

    Re: Beaters

Do consider a sinn u1. Its affordable and is one hard core beater. Any better will be the bremont mbii/ supermarine or the IWC.
