Before I try this / strap modification advise

    Happy Holidays all!
I have a heavy black leather strap with thick white stitching. I want to use this on a Orange Steinhart Aviation but I'd prefer orange stitching on the band.
So - I have two options 1) find or have made a new strap or 2) take an orange Sharpie and dye the white stitching on rhe existing strap.
I have never attemped option 2 / has anyone? I don't think I need to worry about Sharpie ink running. What do you folks think?
    Regards-

Give it a go, but try it on the inside first?

i think the 2nd option is a bad idea buddy..anything that involves a sharpie is kinda detrimental..just check out what a sharpie did to this car :

They sell dye stick/pens at fabric/hobby stores. It was an easy fix for my wife's pink stitching on her band.

A third option that you did not mention is re-stitching the strap.

Actually I'm doing this for one of my newer custom straps which costed me >$100 and the restitching is < $10. So way cheaper than a new strap

I've never meddled in strap making, but I can only imagine the most crucial part of making stitching look straight and professional is punching the holes -- and that is already done on a strap with existing stitching.
