Best casual yet dressy watch around 1K?

I know, another one of these threads, but through all my searching I haven't found the answer I seek.

I want a SARB because they are versatile, robust, and well made for normal guy money.

But the 033/035 are a touch too dainty for my liking (I sent my new SARB033 back last week) and the fat markers on the 021 don't do it for me.

I'm looking for 39-41 mm with a lug to lug under 50 mm. Don't care about date or not, gotta be auto, I want something I can wear every day on bracelet or NATO but can reasonably dress up with leather.

My current watches are in my sig, I need something for when I dress up but I'd like to be able to wear it in casual settings also.

lots of options 2K+ but my budget is 1K (maybe slightly over if perfect?)

Omega, Oak & Oscar, Hamilton, Seiko x2, Orient, Suunto, G-Shock

One of these ML Pontos, perhaps? 40mm, several dial colors, around $800 from GM dealers.

The Tissot Visodate works well here and will run well under budget. Here is mine.

Ball Fireman Enterprise. There are a few other varieties of Ball that will fit the bill as well.

Have a look at the Citizen Grand Classic NB0040-58E. This is mine ^^

Extremely well made and finishing far above its price level. This is a discontinued model but they show up preowned from time to time. 41.8mm case. Miyota 9011 movement with nice decoration touches. Very accurate, does sporty yet classy easily. In the metal it’s very impressive.

attention to details in Seiko and functionality punches way above their price.
It should not be pearl dial, just found picture with this dial to show how details look on this watch.

Citizen Signature Grand Classic gets my vote, and not enough love on this forum. An excellent watch.

Kinda like the Hamilton Jazzmaster at that price point. Casual enough on a brown leather band, but you can dress it up on a nice black band for formal occasions.

    Pic stolen from Google.

How about a Longines Conquest in blue? I've always thought blue to be a pretty versatile color. Would look great on a brown strap too. And this Longines is reminiscent of one of the most famous GADA watches: the Rolex Explorer.
