best watches at different price points?

If you had to pick different watches to represent the best at/above their price range, what would they be, for example

    1. Below $100
    2. Up to $500
    3. Up to $1500
    4. Up to $5000
    5. Up to $10000
    6. Anything you want, regardless of price

The only 2 brands im aware of and would place to represent categoties 3 and 4 would be Omega, and Breitling.

I know for most of you Omega rates higher, but i find in terms of quality Breitling can't really be surpassed.

I mean i know their designs may be polarizing and some of you might not look beyond (most of) their movements not being in house, but that doesn't mean the brand is cheap or shoddy, just that it equates to them being at a cheaper cost without sacrificing quality of individual parts ; i mean look at Omega before and after the 8500 movement came out, significant price hike on all their models.

    Very funny /sarcasm.

It wouldn't even qualify for the first 3.

Im interested in seeing what people would pick in different price ranges.

Of course i expect the last 3 to include many examples of Omega (the one brand that i like the most besides Breitling), Rolex, and Panerai.

The Avenger I was the better watch by far. The II is a mere shadow of its former glory.

Oh please, the Avenger I was an ugly looking Vintage/modern hybrid, the II is boldly beautiful, not understatedly ugly.

    ~$100 is G-Shock
    ~$200 is tisell marine diver.
    ~$500 is seiko sumo
~$1000 is Oris TT1 or an Oris Aquis

the up to $5000 is really really tough. most watches in that legit price range are really really nice.
pre $10k, for me, is the Rolex yachtmaster platinum bezel or a submariner.

and overall, the best watch is whatever im wearing at the time....because im wearing IT and not something else.
Make it hurt so bad, 'cause it feels so good when you stop.

I've seen these type of threads before. Either they die an early death or just degenerate into squabbling.

    1. Seiko 5 Series
    2. Hamilton Khaki Field
    3. Damasko DA36
    4. Omega Speedmaster Professional
    5. Rolex Explorer I
    6. RGM PS-801-S

This is all subjective without taking into account strap choice, dial, design, size, features, or watch type.
These are just my favorite watches from each price bracket.

No. It is a proven fact that the I was the superior watch for all of the well known and documented reasons.

Nope, the Avenger II is updated to look more beautiful and truly modern, both are the same dimensions and use the same movement, but the II is better balanced, weighs a little less (Titanium Caseback), better proportioned bracelet, and looks way better.

Some people might prefer the looks of the 1 (in which case they have bad eyes), but its proven to not be quite as good.
