    Which is better?

    I hate to ask this but which movement is better ISA or ETA. Quartz? Mechanical? And yes i know that they make ebauches and not completed movements but still which is better?

    There is such a variety of movements that nobody will be able to answer this question to your full satisfaction. Be more specific. Name the movements for a direct comparison !

    Well, there you go....

    Neither of them make ebauches any more, just complete movements.

    ISA quartz only, ETA mechanical and quartz....

    People consider eta an ebauch maker but it can be classified as a watch maker because it produces all the parts for movements.

    I was only looking for peoples opinions not a technical discussion.

    Uhhh, ETA only makes complete movements these days, they stopped supplying ebauche and parts kits a few years back.

    Well, if you ask "which is better" and the question cleary relates to watch movements - does nor matter if quartz or mechanical - it neceessarily will become a technical discussion.

    ETA still makes ebauches but only distributes them to affiliated swatch group companies. They stopped selling them other places last year.
