    Black face watches on brown leather staps look odd to me

    I'm wearing one right now and it still doesn't look right to me. It's like wearing a black belt and brown shoes.

    ^^ thats because you have some black sots to give the band some coordination with the face. A brown strap without black stitching would look odd with a black watch.

    I'm with you Loki. I think that the black dial / brown strap combo looks a bit off.

    I don't have a problem with it, I like the contrast. Even with black belt and shoes, unless the dress is very formal.
