Hey All,
I am a massive James Bond fan and am now itching for another watch.
For approx. max $1000.00US what would be the best James Bond type watch out there? Has to be analog.
Thanks for your time and help!

I'd suggest the MKII Vantage. Modelled on the Rolex Explorer 1016 which Ian Fleming wore and which is reckoned to be the watch Bond wore in at least some of the books.

Hmmm, I don't think James Bond would EVER wear a homage.
So you have a source for a sub $1000k genuine Explorer?
To the OP, Bond wore lots of watches, I assume you checked out this thread.

You can get gently used Omega SMP quartz usually under $1K.
You can get gently used Omega SMP Auto for around $1K. Just under depending on exterior condition and since SMP only have AR coating on underside, crystal usually does not have any marks.
Chronic flipper...
You can get a used one for only a little more. Bond also wore a Breitling Top Time from the late 60's / early 70's in Thunderball - that can be found for under $1000. How about the cool Seikos that Roger Moore wore? You could buy several within that budget; you just have to track them down.
Hmmm, that's a good point. I read an article about the watches in the books recently that suggested that when he wasn't wearing a Sub or Explorer Fleming had him in cheap watches that were low profile so they didn't interfere with his draw and with expandable bracelets so he could easily use them as knuckle dusters.
So you could get something like that and save the rest towards a Rolex.
Although tbh the SMP is probably the way to go, I just don't personally lile the look of them.

Brother depends on which Bond fan are you Moore Bond/ Pierce Bond/ Sean Bond/ Craig Bond!!!
The OP should specify which type of "Bond" watch he's craving but my guess it's a Submariner homage.
Oodles of decent ones available for much less than 1k.

I don't think there are any pierce bond fans. I love Sean, grew up with Moore, tolerated Moore, really like Craig so it Sean for meOriginally Posted by sandya;
