So I noticed that Boschett advertises ETA movements that are gold plated. However, I understand that the case backs are not display. So I can't help but ask what's the point. I guess in theory gold plating could reduce the risk of corrosion but the movements aren't really at high risk for that. Is it a ploy to to get the value up enough for "Swiss made" status.
Is there any reason for this or is it just to know your movement is worth a little more..
