    Bothered by date nub?

When I see it I kind of cringe... it happens with a fair amount of mid-tier watch designs... date complications that are not all the way to the dial perimeter so the designer feels compelled to insert a unique "short bus" marker treatment. Why?

If those designs didn't have them it would look even more odd.

The right thing to do would be to revise the date wheel on the movement (I think CW did this recently on one of theirs), but most people aren't going to want to pay the additional cost.

I don't really see a problem in the samples you posted. Date placements are limited by the size of the movement and case it is put in. You can see these even in high-end brands. What bothers me more, and this is purely a personal preference, is placing date windows in odd places like the 2-o'clock or 4-o'clock position i.e. some Girard Perregaux pieces.

Exactly this, in fact on the pelagos I particularly like it

Can't say I have an issue with it. Then again I'm not one of those who finds lack of symmetry on a watch off putting

I'm fine with it when it's a full marker that's just been "cut short" by the date. I'm less keen when it's just a thicker minute marker that doesn't show up anywhere else on the dial. But, yeah, something has to go there -- it's not like sliding the date over is always an option.

I quite like it, it balances the appearance of the dial.

ditto. The new pelagos does not have it, and it throws off that amazing lume for me.

As some others have mentioned, I also am okay with a cut-off nub, but a total lack of anything bugs me, and a non-consistent, differently proportioned/coloured nub (or replacement printed stripe) bugs me a looooot.
