Which bracelet for Orient Ray II?

Hi, I recently purchased a used black dial Orient Ray II on a bracelet. The case, bezel, crystal etc is immaculate. Unfortunately, the bracelet is beat up, scuffed up and is irritating the hell out of me.

    Excuse the poor pic.

I really wanted a curved solid end link bracelet that sat flush with the case, but couldn't get a definite pointer in the right direction. I really can't be bending and flexing steel to fit the watch. I've decided to settle for straight end links.

I'm in the UK and on a budget of max £50 inc shipping. I want to purchase one of the following, but can't decide because I can't picture what the hell it would look like.

    I like #2.

    #1 looks too shiny.

#3 would work well but I like #2.

The more I look at it, I'm kinda drawn to 2 aswell.

The first one does have a brushed option if you scroll down or click on another image, the link just loads the shiny one by default. I'm thinking of getting the brushed one for my SARX021 which is a bit dressier.

If you want an SEL bracelet for your Raven II, you may want to try Orient directly as I read a post a while back that a fellow member got an Mako USA SEL bracelet for either a Raven or Mako and the case was the same, so it fit perfectly. I am sure they would tell you if you contacted them. How much it is though, i do not know.

A Seiko SKX bracelet with rolled end links fit my Mako perfectly, in terms of interface with the lug contours, with just minor adjusting of the back tabs to tighten up the fit a bit.

You'll need the fat Seiko spring bars for it though, so make sure you get those also if you go this route.

I picked up a couple SKX bracelets here on the Sales Forum for $25 each, in like new shape. Lots of folks go right to straps when they get their watches and get rid of the bracelets.

Long Island Watch also has them new (Jubilee only) for $39 new.

Pic of Jubilee on Mako, Casio and Orient Devario. The actual SKX is on a Strapcode "SuperJubille" (has SEL's).

    Just some other ideas...

Re: Which bracelet for Orient Ray II?

Despite trying to research this and my lack of understanding very helpful peoples responses to my query regarding this fitting an Orient Ray or Mako, I was still unsure if I could make it work, So I purchased the Strapcode Super Engineer for the SKX007.

One end fit nicely width wise between the lugs, the other was a hair off and would require filing down. The curvature was perfect but the end link would move on the hinge of the spring bar and would require welding or a bit of chewing gum ;) Anyway, they kindly refunded me and I bought the straight end link version and it is sweet. I'm so glad I was forced to buy the straight end links after experimenting with the curved, as it makes the Ray look much chunkier than it really is due to the exposed case between the lugs. I plan on buying an SKX007 and honestly think I may buy a straight end Super Engineer II for that.

Anyway, my experiment was for my own peace of mind and fellow Ray, Mako owners.

It does look a bit chunky in the photos but in the best way possible. Enjoy.
