    Breitling Superocean Steelfish over Omega Speedmaster Reduced - am I crazy?

    Hi,

    I'm looking to buy a watch for about £1-1.2k - I'd like to spend more but my wife would kill me. Having umm-ed and ah-ed about a whole range of watches and brands, I've narrowed it down to buying a used watch, on bracelet, sporty and from a respectable brand.

    I've shortlisted the Speedmaster Reduced and Superocean Steelfish. I have 6.75" wrists, with a 'generous' (call it chunky) build.

    My mind says, Speedy Reduced for resale value and because the Steelfish on my size wrists is probably too large. However, my heart seems to be steering me to the Steelfish - am I crazy?

    Much prefer the steelfish. The speedy reduced is a mile away from the speedy pro and isn't a watch I particularly like.

    I prefer my Orient Star than JLC. Since when is the more expensive watch more of a favorite?

    Looks like you answered your own question. Your heart seems to be with the steelfish, so that is the way to go. If it is too big, pass on it and wait for another watch to make you feel the same. Don't buy a watch only for resale value

    The speedy reduced has no worth getting.
    Get the Steelfish if it's what you prefer.
    ROLEX Datejust 36mm Blueberry;
    ROLEX Pepsi GMT-Master 16700 (Circa 1987);
    ZENITH El Primero 36'000 VPH Tri-Color;
    SEIKO Prospex Solar Tuna SBDN026 (1981/3000)

    Considerations:
    AUDEMARS PIGUET Royal Oak 15450
    A.LANGE & SOHNE Saxonia Thin 37mm

    Why the derision against the reduced? 38mm is a great size for a small wrist and if you can source a JDM panda version, you have yourself an average man's 6263!

    I am much prefer Steelfish over Speedmaster. The fact I own one in 44mm on my 6.25" wrist. Beatiful design and harder to see it on people's wrist. I recommend Steelfish in blue.

    No you're not crazy, welcome to wus ..... ps, it doesn't get any better than this unless you get rid of the wife
