    DST ends soon...what....how ....when?

Hey guys, Federal manipulation of time ends soon (DST) and was just wondering how others set their collection to standard time (U.S. members). Do you sit down and do it all at once or as watches come up for rotation to wear or some other method? Or do you even do it at all?

Especially interested on how someone with a rather big collection does it.

Additionally, what do you use as your time reference when setting?

The autos aren't a problem as I just let them die when not in use but the solars and Kinetics are a bit of a pain & it's just a case of getting on with it. When we change from BST to GMT and back I really appreciate my atomics.

I too let my autos/manuals die when they aren't on the wrist. I keep a few quartz in the collection that I would change when they get wrist time. As for what I use when setting my watches, I use the Watchville app.

On a broader note, if you're worried about this to any degree, you might be in a bit too deep!

It's not so different to the way that summer time reverts to standard time in all the other countries of the world that follow this pattern... unless there's a special way that U.S. members set their watches back an hour but there probably isn't ;).

I adjust them as I use them, as I tend only keep one or two wound and showing the right time.

Quartz watches are set to DST when it's time to wear one and not before. Mechanical watches all run down when not being worn and the tuning forks are only run when it's time to wear one. I will set the watch of the day to a cell phone, time.gov or a running quartz watch, whatever is handy. Absolute precision really is not all that important especially with mechanical watches.

Sure wish the rest of the country would follow the sensible approach used by Arizona and just adopt standard time year around.

This year, the quartzes will all get reset at the same time, using time.gov. I'm going to do some error tracking on them for grins...and because 2 of em are HAQ.

All my watches are solar quartz so in theory they never should run down....guess I'll do it in rotation as they come up.

British Summer Time ends tonight, so britWUS, answer me this…

How many watches will you have to adjust tomorrow morning?

Initially I thought it was 20 for me, then I remembered the small mercy of my Multiband 6 which will adjust itself, so that's one less to worry about.

Is this a chore, or a chance to reacquaint yourself with some things that may not have seen wrist time for a while?
Life is short, time is precious.

One. And it will have wound down already anyway so there should be no difference to my morning routine.
