    Broken 7750

    Hello all,

I have a wonderful watch that runs on a chronometer 7750. No history of hard bumps or drops. However, this morning, I noticed that the watch is no longer functioning. When I manually wind it, nothing happens, except the escapement spins half way and then stops again. What is going on? Is this a difficult fix? Thanks!

By escapement I hope you mean rotor, the spinning weight at the top (probably has the brand name or something written on it). Just about any analysis can only be made when a tech looks at the movement in detail.
The 7750 is easy to work on for a tech experienced with it, and a curse to those unfamiliar with it. It will cost about $350 to fix (more spaghetti than a typical 3-hander).

It's the balance, not the escapement.

Service history? What's the make/model? Screenshot of the movement? With so little detail, it would be equivalent of trying to diagnose "My car won't start, what' strong with it?".

Never serviced before, purchased summer of 2014, Hermes Clipper Chronograph. I'll get some pictures as soon as I can.

For some reason, WUS is giving me an error whenever I try to upload a picture of the movement. However, the movement looks normal, there's nothing unusual from a visual perspective.

    Resizing might solve the problem.
    Kind regards

Like Mike says check the warranty on it. Even if it's only 12 months hoik it back to the dealer and complain that you don't expect your watch to pack in as soon as it's out of the guarantee period.
