So I'm toying with the idea of picking up a Laco Type B Pilot's watch. I was positive it was going to be a Laco Leipzig, which has a 42mm case in sandblasted steel. However, a seed was planted in an unrelated thread about a bronze watch, and it has borne fruit. I recently learned that the Laco Dortmund (which has a 45mm case) is available in bronze. The major problem--it's nearly double the price ($1100 versus $2250).
Setting aside the size difference (which may not quite work for my wrist), is the bronze worth the premium? I quite like the idea of a patina developing over time, personalizing the watch in a way that even scratches can't, but that's a steep cost. I was curious as to others' experience with bronze and whether they would do it again if they could.
