The Bulova 'Royal Oak' has a cousin

Hey everybody, not sure if this is the most appropriate forum or not, but I just picked up a new watch I think is pretty interesting.

Some of you may have seen the RO homage Bulova made back in the day, and this watch is something along those same lines. I would call it an homage to the Rolex 1530, the automatic Date Just that came in the Oysterquartz case. It appears to be powered by an ETA 2836, but that's about all I know as I can't tell how to differentiate between the serial number and the model number on a Bulova.

So, without further ado, I present the 'Bulova Automatic Oysterquartz' haha. What do you think?

Looks like we had some technical difficulties for a minute, there. Should be all set now!

I would prefer to call it the "Royal Oakdate," but I like what you came up with just fine. Cool find, man, I'd love to get my hands on a Bulova RO one day, god knows I can't afford a real RO.

Interesting and maybe surprising as a new watch design. I had thought most non-Rolex watch makers had droped their pie crust style models by 2000. Is it an old model in like new condition?

I have no idea how to date the watch as neither of the numbers on the case back generate any search results whatsoever. The second part of the code on the bottom of the dial indicates the movement inside, but that's all I can find out. I would be really surprised if this watch were remotely new; I assume newer Bulovas use Japanese movements since they are owned by Citizen, but again, I don't know much about the brand.
