    buying suggestion

    Hi everyone,

I'm currently looking for a nice watch in the pricerange of 500euro's.

I'd prefer the watch to be automatic and rather clean regarding the design.
My current choice would be: Junkers 6060-5 - features

What do you guys think about it? or any other suggestions?

    thnx in advance.

    with kind regards,
    Lewis

    Welcome Lewis.

the first thing you should know is - if YOU like it, don't let someone (especially me) talk you out of it. After all. it's your money and you're the one who will be looking at it all day!

The watch you posted is a nice watch, the quality is good and the value is reasonable. Sice you neglected to post a photo, I will (it's just good manners when asking opinions to post the watch(es) in question rather than force people to follow a link. We'll let it slide this time.)

The crystal is plastic and so will need periodic polishing - a simple and oddly satisfying task. I wouldn't let this dissuade you but wanted to point it out.
As to the design - well it is 'rather clean', but I find the 24 hour dial and power reserve scale irritating and make the dial too busy for a really clean design (does it look like a baseball to you too?) however, you may really want one or both of these complications so my objections may be moot. When I think 'rather clean' I frequently think of the Max Bill - EDITED PER GLENNO"S CORRECTION

It's one of the cleanest dials I know and would be my suggestion. Unless you want the other one.

Hi, it's ok, you asked our opinion......I think you will get more value with a Seiko.
    Now , I must tell you, I don't own a Seiko, never have....But that doesn't stop
me from recommending them, when I feel they would be the right choice......

I thought they were completely different companies. Anyway I agree the Max Bill is the nicer watch, though you could do alot worse than the Junkers. I don't mind the sub-dials but it does seem to suffer from tiny date syndrome.

That Junkers is lovely. And the power reserve and 24h hands are very useful complications when setting time and winding. The watch is very popular - there is even a Lufthansa Zeppelin variant with blue dial. If you like it, I would say, go for it.

I like the Junkers and think the design clean, though oddly complicated (and almost crowded) at the same time. It's a good choice.

the max bill watches are indeed amazing.
I do notice i'd like to have 1 or 2 complications so i came across this one unfortunately quite a bit above my budget.

Stowa is very well regarded, but there are no complications on that Antea you pictured, it's just a seconds hand.
