Can Anyone Shed Light on the Buler Astromaster? AP Homage or "The Original?"

    Hi all,

I've been interested in getting my first swiss watch and want it to be something fairly unique. I was doing a little research and found a vintage (70's) Buler Astromaster that looks shockingly similar to an AP Royal Oak, and it seems as if both watches debuted within a year or two of each other in the very early 70's. My question is, does anyone know which one came first? I hate the the idea of a replica watch and am also not super comfortable with the idea of a homage, but I would feel a little less embarrassed if I was rocking the "OG" even if it's much cheaper!

    Thanks :)

    Spencer

Everyone here probably already knows, but picture below.

You will get a cheap Baumgartner 582 (pin lever movement) with it.

I'm really just trying to figure out if this watch debuted before or after the Royal Oak, which was introduced April 1972.

According tomthe sources I found the Baumgartner 582 was launched about 1975. at that time or a bit later another look-a-like came out - Buler Grand Prix. As well fitted with the BG 582.
    Kind regards

Mike, what source did you find that information on? Only asking because everything I've searched (Ranfft Watches, Wikipedia, etc.) comes up as inconclusive and seems plausible that the BG 582 Precedes the April '71 release date of the RO.

vintage swissmade AstroMaster in AP Royal Oak Design

AstroMaster, Swiss Made, manual wind Baumgartner 582, built ca 1970 / 75.Läuft well and keeps the Zeit.Leider has become too small to me the bracelet, otherwise I would recommend this great clock has not hergeben.Männergröße Also: ca measured 39x45mm without crown ..well obtained with less wear.

The design of the clock is the Royal Oak confusingly similar to but is not Fake.Möglicherweise gave it them even before the AP, the movement was built from 1970th

My wrist is the bracelet measures 19cm.Natürlich interchangeable, it is appropriate with normal spring pins on the housing.

I would have liked to € 40 + shipping for or an exchange offer.

Most sites seem to refer to this watch as an homage to the original Royal Oak design
