Can I put a deployant clasp on an existing leather strap that doesn't already have one?

I'd like to buy a Christopher Ward Trident C65, however I am dissapointed that this model of watch doesn't come with a deployant clasp on the leather strap. Does anyone know if they have an option for it?

If not, can I buy a deployant clasp and put it on the existing leather strap that came with the watch?

Also, thoughts on Christopher Ward Trident C65? Good watch?

Its possible, but may take some trial and error. Sometimes a strap may have padding, or the width/taper and holes don't always work together. Most likely it will be easy to find, but over the years I have come across issues with deployants and straps, and now I will only choose OEM options over after market deployants. If also can depend on how picky you are about fit/matching finish etc.

Yes you can, just make sure you know the thickness of the strap, the width of the buckle.

I second that. Have done this with multiple silicon and leather straps.

I have a few RHD deployants that work for most straps originally equipped with a tang buckle. They work great for me.

You could order another strap from Christopher Ward with the Bader Deployment (sic):

C65 is a good watch. Go for it.

Yes. Standard butterfly clasps can simply replace the pin buckle on normal leather straps (not too thick, with round holes, etc.).

You can, but try it without the deployant clasp first and see how you like it.

Any good recommendations on a clasp that is both brushed steel and good quality so as to match the particular watch I am purchasing?
