Can the IWC Portuguese Chrono with gold hands be a daily wearer?

Hi all! So almost two years ago I picked up the IWC 3714-45 Portuguese Chrono with the gold hands and hour markers. I had loved the watch for a couple years before purchasing, and it has 100% lived up to the beauty I fell in love with. My question is, do you think it can be pulled off as a daily casual wearer? I planned on giving it more wrist time when I first got it, but it has kind of fallen onto the dressier side of my rotation. However, I don't dress up too often and have a pretty casual wardrobe, usually wearing shorts and t shirts but want to get back to wearing the watch more. What do you think?

The black one or the white with blue hands would probably better fit as daily wearers than the golden hands, which has a more formal look. The new 3716 white dial 150th anniversary would be my choice!

I think virtually anything can be a daily wearer. You can definitely dress something down with a rugged-looking strap.

I don’t see why it couldn’t be? You wear what you like. Seems like more and more people are either wearing no watch, or some kind of smart watch. It would be a nice change of pace to see someone wearing something sharp like your IWC.

If you tend to wear darker clothes or more jeans colored ones, I'd look for the black dial or white/blue combination.

However if you tend to have a lot of white based clothing and casual shirts along with lighter kakhi/sand tones then it might just work

If you love it then wear it.

4% will notice but won't care.

Oh yea I think it would be fine. Gold hands is my favorite version of this watch and is the original. To me has more warmth than the blue/white. The black or blue are nice but not legible unless the light hits just right. The watch is large enough and is also a chrono so takes it out of the dress category for me anyway. I think of this watch as a smart casual watch and would not hesitate to wear both to work as biz casual or even just lounging on the weekends. Fantastic watch.

Great watch. I would definitely consider it dressy. But a dressy watch can still work with a casual outfit. I think it really depends on your daily routine. As long as you dont have a rough daily routine or work in construction, I'd say wear it as often as you can.

All about your confidence. If you are comfortable with it, a person can pull off almost anything from a $100 Casio with a suit to a six-digit dress watch with jeans and a t-shirt. If you are self-conscious, however, even the opposite pairings will not work. Be happy. Be confident. And rock one of the best IWCs out there.

In a suit it would look superb, cargo shorts not at all.
