Can someone tell me about this Waltham watch i just won on ebay?

Waltham Men's Vintage Wristwatch | eBay

i really liked the simplicity of this watch i know waltham in general is a good /decent name even if its not the original waltham company.
I love the expansion bands too their very comfortable. My guess is its from the 1970's or possibly 80's?
    can anyone confirm this?

I would suggest you post your query on the Vintage forum; they should be able to quote chapter and verse about Walthams over there.

Yes, post this in the "Pocket Watch and Vintage" section for more responses.

I would guess 1970's swiss Waltham watch. Does it run? If so you got a fair deal.

Thanks the people in the vintage forum seem a bit snide, all i got was comments how the watch looks like ....
rather than actually answering my question as to dating the watch. Anyway I'll just go with its from the 70's.

That's an unfortunate attitude. Yours are in-fact good quality watches. In addition to wristwatches I have a small collection of railroad pocket watches dating back to the 1920's. I also have a swiss Waltham 25 Jewel railroad style pocket watch that was made about the same time as yours. In many ways it is an attractive time keeper with with a lovely enamel dial, hefty nicely detailed case, etc. Some collectors view it and similar 1970's watches from Elgin as somehow not real watches. Of course they are real. I enjoy it along with the rest of the collection.
