    Can't Decide....Please Help!

    Hello Everyone,

I have narrowed my search to two dive watches, but i can't decide which to go with. And since i am new to the "diver watch" world, it makes things even more complicated. The two watch that i have my eyes one are the Oris Carlos Coste and the Marathon CSAR. I know that Oris is a more well known company, but Marathon is geared more toward military grade stuff. Which one have more bang for the buck? How does the CSAR stack up to the Carlos Coste? And which one would you pick?

by the way, they both are about the exact same price.

    thank you!
    Joe

Purely based on looks, I like the Oris Carlos Coste better.

This is what to do -

Choose the watch you like the least, mentally scrutinise it for a full 24hrs, then go and actually purchase the other piece.

If it were me, I would opt for the Oris.

Pick the watch you can sell easier. That way, if you don't like it, you can flip it quick and buy the other one.

I looked at the both watches and I FEEL that it does depend on whether you are planning to really dive or not IMHO.

With Trit hands and markers it may be better for you to dive with it since it does not require charging (Though bezel peep is Super Luminova so I guess it may just not be a point).

    Both have same movement.

Are we talking about LE Carlos Coste Chrono? The one with Ceramic bezel insert?

It looks like there are couple of options with Oris in terms of color. That said, I hear the CSAR is being discontinued? (Am I right?) It may be very difficult to get later if that is indeed the case.

To me, Marathon looks more purpose built and that makes it seem better to me.

Good luck choosing. I think you have 2 winners here doesn't matter which way you decide.
