I have one (G-9000) but haven't changed the battery yet. It's using CR2025 batteries.

    Battery change is simple:
    - Remove straps
    - Unscrew backplate
    - Remove battery
    - Put on new battery
    - "short" AC (using metal tweezers) to the back of the battery

You can find many videos in Youtube/Google for G-Shock battery change - procedure is similar to non-atomic (G-9000) Mudman.
