    Casual everyday watch around $500

I'm hoping to find a watch to wear almost every day all year round. Would love to sell my other watches, become a one watch guy, and start obsessing over things that actually matter more.

My wrist is around 7", and I don't like big watches. Subs would be fine as long as they weren't too bulky. I prefer clean dials. Large Arabic numerals would be best, but indices are ok on the right watch. No Roman numerals. And I love good lume. Dial will be blue or black, and the watch will mostly be worn on a brown leather band.

I mostly wear jeans with a polo or button down. Sometimes khakis. When it gets cold I throw on a leather jacket or peacoat. Might wear a sportcoat every once in a while, but I'm not wearing a suit unless someone died. I do travel a lot, but watch will not be around water much.

    Thanks for your input.

Get a Tag Heuer, Glycine, or Hamilton. You can find many models used around that price range on the grey market which are very nice for syn occasion.

Hamilton Khaki King on leather. Sadly the lume leaves a little(a lot) to be desired.

That's a good choice, but I really wish the day at the top was black with white letters rather than the way it is. Less constrasty that way.

I'm currently drooling over the Seiko SARB033 & 035. They're a little smaller then I'd like though, but perhaps perfect for you?

Instead of a pic I'm going to leave a link to whole thread filled with pics & info:

SARB033 would have my vote. You'd have enough budget for the watch and a really nice leather strap.

41mm, ETA 2824-2, and way under budget at $350 from Amazon.

I’m down to two, which is the least watches I think I’d be comfortable with. One of mine is the SARB033. The other is the Ball 40mm Classic. If I had to choose between the two, it would be difficult, but knowing that with their price difference says a lot about the Seiko. The Ball is slightly better in every way, movement accuracy, finishing, bracelet quality, but only just. The SARB is an excellent one watch.

I second the Hamilton. Pound for pound the field watch I believe is what you are looking for. It takes on the “character” of whatever strap is on it. NATO can be summer fun. While a leather/suede strap can be more dressy and elegant. Good luck.

I recommend an Archimede Pilot watch or a Hamilton Khaki field watch. Both great choices.
