Exclamation Caveat Emptor: The worst deal I have ever seen for a watch

I've seen the rants about this and that being overpriced, not worth it, etc. I don't often have much reason to think that a deal/price for a watch could be worse than full MSRP, regardless of who makes the watch, but I just came across this and my jaw just dropped!!!

    Here's the watch:

    • Here's one price: $3850 - As offered by the company that makes the watch.
    • Here's another price: $5850 - As offered by Stauer. Stauer's contribution that apparently merits the price: two paragraphs of flowery description. Towson Watch Company (the watch's maker) only has one paragraph of pretty language to describe the item.

They're your neighbors - Towson. That has to be worth something

The crown on that watch is certified ridiculous.

I probably wouldn't recommend you buy one then.

But, good news - I have secret sources that tell me some select Invicta models, INCLUDING those with flame fusion technology, will be going on sale for 95% off MSRP. Keep it in your back pocket though. Don't need the whole world in on this opportunity.

To be clear does Towson Watch actually make (manufacture) the components for that watch in Towson? At first glance I think China origin.

What is a watch with an oddly shaped case, weird crown, large exploding numerals and poorly matched skeleton hands supposed to engender a feeling of pride in?

They make the case and dial. The movement is stock ETA.
