    CENTURY watches?

Has anyone of you ever heard of a Swiss watch brand called CENTURY, producing some sapphire watches?

At the hotel I am staying at right now, there is an exhibition by them and the representative seriously wants me to believe they are a well-known Swiss brand.
I hardly find any information about them and as a WIS, I guess I should have heard of them if they actually were a well-known brand.

If I am mistaken, please correct me.

If not, please hate the brand in your responds.

    Thanks in advance for answering!

Yes I did and I hardly found information.
I want to prove the representative that they aren't that well known under watch enthusiasts as he thinks they are...

Apparently they've been around for a while: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Century_Time_Gems

    CENTURY watches?

Their watches are bad, pseudo-luxury watches, in my opinion.
I told the representative I never heard of them (you apparently haven't either) and seriously doubt their quality.

I mean if they were that great as they position themselves, watch enthusiasts like our forum members should have heard of them but there is no thread about them and apparently no one knowing them.

    CENTURY watches?

I guess the problem is that the brand's marketing is aimed at watch enthusiasts, but their watches rather are bling-bling fashion watches that should not be aimed at enthusiasts.

I mean I can get a Lange Saxonia for almost the same price as the ETA-Century...but it wouldn't have a bling-bling sapphire case.

No serious WIS would buy a watch by them, but they (especially their weird representatives) want to make me believe one would—which made me a little angry.

    Thanks for your answers!

A tourbillon is far away from being pseudo-luxury, even if it is a swiss made Century.
    Kind regards

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and tastes. There's a lot of companies out there most enthusiasts aren't aware of, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth a second look. I also know sapphire is a very difficult medium to work with. This virtually unknown company below breaks nine out of ten sapphire dials during their manufacturing process.

The tourbillon is also COSC; that's neither easy nor cheap.

A problem is lack of info. They're only citing "Swiss made movement." With a tourbillon watch, and a platinum caseback, the price pretty clearly will be quite substantial.
