    Cheap Moonphases?

I currently have my finger hovering over the "buy it now" button of a Sea-Gull M199S, but recently I've discovered a couple other mechanical moonphase watches within my budget.

Is the M199S a better watch than Renatos Martin Braun automatic moonphase?

How many could I be missing? Feel free to tell me about your favorite moonphase watch under $2000. Looking for help here before I make my first "big" purchase.

Glycine has brand new moonphase watches (in black or silver dial) around $368 shipped. You couldn't beat that especially with the ETA Swiss movement.

Price aside, do you think that is a better watch than either of the two I mentioned? Ultimately I want something I'm going to enjoy. I'm not in love with the aesthetic of that watch you recommended but I could certainly live with the black version

Keen for some info on these cheap moonphases myself and do pardon me for hijacking this thread. I am looking for an automatic/hand winding triple calendar moonphase with a date pointer. Any suggestions?

    +1 for Seagull.

    Very nice for the price.

    Re: Cheap Moonphases?

I've had that Sea Gull (twice) and it's a very nice watch for the money. A lot of the other cheapies you'll see also use the Sea Gull movement. For some reason, I've always assumed that Sea Gull put a little more effort/QC into the watches with their name on them, so I went that route.

That Glycine has tempted me as well.

At a higher price point, but below the $2K you mentioned, is C Ward's malvern moonphase, which goes all out with a very large and detailed moon function. List price is $1595. Also comes in dark blue.

For a dial filling moon phase that CW is hard to beat. Nice...

Hijack away. There isn't enough discussion about this. The Sea-Gull sounds like it fits your bill though.

That is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately my price range is in CAD, but that might be worth expending if I couldn't find one second hand.
