Chinese Copy of the ETA 2801 Movement?

Is there a Chinese copy of the ETA 2801 hand wind movement? If yes what is the name? I am looking for the bare movement to practice disassembly and assembly on as part of the Time Zone Watch School level 1 course. I expect it to die in my hands so I am not looking for great quality.

Another option would be a Chinese copy of the FM97 movement or Unitas 6497 movement.

I think I'm right that the 2801 is the same as an 2824 with the rotor removed - you could get a Seagull ST2130 and remove the rotor from that?

The 2801 does not feature a date, that would be the 2804.

the DG 2833 seems to have a date complication. Is there one without? I would like to keep it as close to the ETA 2801 as possible.

I might suggest a 6497 for your first shot at it, everything is nice and large. Plenty of inexpensive 6497/6498 clones out there and plenty of cases to put them in if you don't kill it.

That's why I said close....do not know of an exact clone. You might check our Chinese Watches Forum.

The Chinese have quite a number of very good handwinding designs. They haven't felt the need to copy the 2801 or 2804. They have a few functional drop-in replacements, but these have quite a different design.
