    Chopard ident?

hi all, we don't have a Chopard forum, do we?

I was wondering: any way of identifying what sort of Chopard I have?

It's a plain dress watch, I believe in 18K gold. On the back it has just a 6-digit number, which I take to be the serial, and "10/91", which I guess is the assembly date.

Is there a DB of Chopard serials anywhere?

thanks much for any ideas... I'll try to get some pics organised, but meanwhile, any thoughts?

    A pic would help.

You'll probably need pics regardless of having a serial number. I sent you an PM.

actually, it turns out that 1091 is the model number, and I found an example here, with a pic:

which looks exactly like mine :)

does anyone know what the little blue "stone" might be, on the tip of the crown?

The 'blue stone' inset into the end of the crown appears to be a marketing tool similar to the sapphire cabochon, Ballon Bleu, of the eponymous Cartier dress watch line. As you already know, it is eye-catching in a world of equally fine gold watches.

thanks; I wonder what the Chopard stone *is*, if anything... still, just idle curiosity, I love the watch regardless.

Many dress watches have a blue saphire stone on the crown. I have no doubt that this is the same. Cabochon is the style of the cut which just means "polished in a convex shape."
