    Chrono suggestions please?

    Hello friends!

I am looking for a chronograph with the following characteristics:

    - 6.5 inch wrists so no more than approx 40mm diameter, ideally approx 38mm - bigger is allowed if no more than approx 48mm lug to lug
    - not too thick (definitely below 14mm, ideally below 12mm)
    - automatic
    - $1-5k
    - no ugly generic date window

What do you think are the best chronos that meet these criteria? I have already looked at the moonwatch but would like to look wider. Really struggling to find any that match my tastes.

Thank you for any help - let me know if you have any questions!

I too carry the curse of the feminine wrist and favor a speedy reduced, but maybe this Junghans will help add some diversity to your search?

Perhaps a used Omega triple date? Not quite 40mm, day/date window anything but generic:

Try a Speedy reduced, 3510.50, pro-owned of course.

You're going to have trouble finding something that small in a chrono.

If the classic look of the Speedmaster Pro interests you, you may want to look at the Tag Heuer Carrera Caliber 18 Telemeter Chronograph. 39mm, no crown guards (similar to the "First Omega in Space" Speedmaster), domed sapphire crystal, but with a panda dial. The silver dial has a sunburst effect which is very attractive in person.

The movement I believe is a tastefully decorated Sellita SW-300 auto with Dubois-Depraz chrono module visible through the sapphire caseback. You would think that the movement was in-house (it's not) due to the perfect spacing of the dials and the date window. Like the Speedy, a very well balanced and symmetrical layout.

After discounts from an AD you should get below your $5K mark, grey market under $4K.

For myself, it came down to either this or the Speedy Pro as my first mechanical chrono. Never owning an Omega and being a fan of all things space related, I went with the Speedy.

I am not sure what a "...generic date window" is, but all of the suggestions so far have date or day date complications.

The Breitling Transocean Chrono 38 is a looker, but doesn't quite meet your thickness requirement (14.25 mm):

Checks all the boxes - 38mm, 12.45mm thick, auto - but you'll need to go gray market to get it under $5k
