    The intel is pretty clear. Citizen isn't maintaining its edge, it's straight up invading.

    Hmm, that's interesting, thanks for posting that. I hope that'll be a good thing for Citizen, and that they don't have a huge jump in price of their current tier models as they're in a great price range for me. I'd like to see what a Citizen of that caliber would be like.
    Current: Seiko 5 SNGZ71, Seiko SKX007, G-Shock G9000-1V

    Grail: Omega SMP 300 or Planet Ocean Orange Bezel

    Like Lexus and Toyota, i doubt that the Citizen name will play any part.

    Thanks

    It'll probably be reminiscent of the Swatch Group's brand tiers IE: Tissot and Rado compared to Breguet and the like. Citizen and Independent Watch Company on the bottom, and whatever high end Swiss brand they buy on the top. All retaining their brand names and style. At the end of the day it's money in their pocket. I'm interested to see which brand they're looking at acquiring though

    Presumably it's one of the few remaining Swiss brands not under the umbrella of the big European conglomerates;

    Eterna was recently purchased by a Chinese company so presumably they're off the list.
    Universal Geneve? - possibly. They've been struggling and a ripe candidate for a buy out if Stelux are willing to sell - and Citizen has deep enough pockets to persuade them.
    Bovet would also fit the bill of a luxury Swiss brand well known in China and rest of world.
