    Collection - Next Steps?

After getting back into watches over the past year, I bought and flipped a few affordables - Glycine Combat Sub, Helm Vanuatu, Orient Bambino V3 - and have settled on these six, with a seventh - my first vintage purchase - on the way (see below). The latest iteration of the collection consists of:

    • Alpina Startimer Pilot Manufacture
    • Lorier Neptune
    • Gavox Legacy Navy
    • Seiko SRP777
    • Oris Divers 65
    • Junghans Meister Telemeter
    • Seiko 6106-8100 (on the way)

I'm hoping to get some input as to where to go next. I don't think I want more than eight watches total so I'll soon be in a "one in/one out" situation.

I'm considering in the near/mid term: Oris Big Crown Pointer Date w/blue dial and Guinand Model 361. Also contemplating a Tudor Black Bay 58, which would likely mean selling off the Divers 65. Other brands that have piqued my interest are Farer (I really like the Ponting GMT) and Damasko (I like their beefy chronographs w/rotating bezel).

As you can see, I haven't necessarily gravitated towards a particular type of watch. However, I tend to be drawn to watches I feel have a strong yet focused sense of style. Obviously, I like the vintage look.

How about a vintage Seamaster? Or a vintage dresswatch with some patina?

I agree with @drewdoog. need some color in there. Maybe an Oris Aquis Water of life? Tudor Black Bay blue or red? Damasko's crazy bright blue with the orange indices?

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Perhaps it's the (poor) quality of my photos but I already have a blue dial/bezel diver - the Lorier.
Not too keen on another Bambino but I do like that blue dial.

Hamilton Intra-Matic would fit right in I think.

Frankly I like what you've got as it stands now. Enjoy what you have and take a long weekend at the beach or in the mountains instead.

Thanks for the much needed perspective. I'm actually planning an extended steelhead fly fishing trip - more like a series of trips - throughout the PNW this fall/winter which involves everything from sourcing and outfitting a vehicle to updating some of my gear so yes, I should likely focus some of my discretionary spending in that direction for the near term, too.

I like your collection! If I was you, I think my next step would be a grail-ish watch. That’s different for everybody but something from Tudors Black Bay collection would fit nicely. Perhaps the GMT with the Pepsi bezel?

Very nice collection. Enjoy them. How about a Gmt or Chronograph
