Confused about Nixon Regent jewel count

First off, I'm new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself and say I'm am a novice in the field of watch collecting, but have always had a fascination with watches and the intricacies that are involved with them.

Anyway, as the thread title states, I recently purchased a Nixon Regent and I am confused about the jewel count and how many jewels it actually contains. On the Nixon website (The Regent - Nixon Watches and Accessories at nixonnow.com) it states that the watch has 25 jewels however, on the back of mine it clearly says 26 jewels. I helping someone can explain why that is or any other information you may have. I have attached an image of the back of my watch.

That being said, I'm glad to join your community and am excited about venturing into watch collecting on a greater scale!

1200 for a Nixon?? Please tell me you got a discount on what is strictly a fashion brand.
a watch has metaphoric powers. It can function, for example, as a kind of [Self]-centric G.P.S. device. You put it on, and it gives you a lock on your own coordinates — not just time but space and self.

The Sellita SW200 is a Swiss made ETA 2824-2 clone, but while the ETA has 25 jewels the Sellita has 26. They probably use the movement they have in stock at the time...

The website is saying that the movement is an eta 2824. What you got was a Selitta sw200.
Both are Swiss, both are essentially identical, but Selitta hides an extra useless jewel in there somewhere.

I had no idea Nixon made automatics......

Although i'm not a fan of Nixon, I have to admit, this is the best one I've seen yet.

Also, if you're going to cast stones, don't play the victim card the next time someone states that Rolex's are overpriced.....

You got a Sellita SW 200 instead of an ETA 2824-2. The Sel.lita SW 200 is commonly described as a clone of the ETA 2824-2 with just one jewel more.
As far as I can see nothing was radically refined, so 1200 bucks is way too much. Way too much.
    Kind regards

+1 Although my guess is that Nixon has transitioned from ETA to Sellita along with several other makers. They need to update the website. And for the o.p. those jewels are synthetic and serve as bearing surfaces. They help the movement run more efficiently.
